IPSWICH have accepted a late-call-up to the Premier League Pairs next Friday to replace Plymouth, whose No.1 rider Ben Barker is now unavailable for the event.
Barker has been called up to a track reserve position for the British Grand Prix the following day, meaning he cannot compete for the Devils at Somerset.
Speedway GB Events co-ordinator David Hoggart said: “We fully understand and support Ben’s wishes to prepare for the biggest event in World Speedway and recognise the difficult decision Plymouth have made to support him.
“Mike Bowden feels that Plymouth’s opportunity in the PL Pairs cannot be fulfilled without his number 1 rider and has graciously withdrawn which opens the door for the next club in line, Ipswich, to compete.
“John Louis has accepted the invitation and the Witches will be represented by Kevin Doolan and Taylor Poole who both fly around Somerset”.
