Ipswich Witches 55 Edinburgh Monarchs 35
IPSWICH ‘Sackers’ Witches have given themselves a fantastic chance of reaching the KO Cup final after a first leg 20-point win over Edinburgh Monarchs at Foxhall Stadium. The home side took the lead from the off and steadily built up an advantage, culminating with a final 5-1 maximum from the flying Dakota North and Leigh Lanham. It was good stuff from the home side who were consistent throughout and could quite easily have won this meeting by more, as Stefan Nielsen and Mat Tresarrieu gifted the visitors’ points. But before the meeting Ipswich would have settled for a 20-point win.
The winners will race Newcastle or Workington in the final.
