TONIGHT is likely to be the Evening Star Witches toughest home test of the season and they could do with all the support they can muster.

After a break of 18 days, the Suffolk side return to track action against Poole Pirates at Foxhall Stadium this evening, and most fans will be hoping the break will not derail their side, who are currently unbeaten in seven Elite League meetings.

The Evening Star Witches successful run earlier last month shot them to the top of the Elite League table, but now they have dropped off that perch after a lack of action.

Three away victories in the space of five nights last month, have put the Witches in with an excellent chance of getting into the end of season play-offs.

But tonight's opponents Poole, were one of the Witches scalps on that three-match away-day run, and they will not only be up for revenge, but are indeed quite capable of exacting it.

Led by flying Aussie Chris Holder and GP star Bjarne Pedersen, Poole have the strongest heat-leader trio (Davey Watt being the other man), in the league.

And there is no doubt the Witches will have to get among those two if they are to extend their unbeaten run.

The Witches will be using rider replacement for injured skipper Chris Louis, but with the new averages now in force, Jarek Hampel will not be able to take an extra ride, while Piotr Swiderski moves to the No.3 position and Steve Johnston drops to reserve.

Sky cameras will be covering the meeting live and under 15s will allowed in free tonight with a voucher printed in the Evening Star. They do not need to be accompanied by an adult.

Tonight's teams

Ipswich: 1 J Hampel, 2 T Kroner, 3 P Swiderski, 4 R/R, 5 R Miskowiak, 6 S Johnston, 7 C Schramm

Poole: 1 C Holder, 2 F Eriksson, 3 B Pedersen, 4 A Skornicki, 5 D Watt, 6 M Zetterstrom, 7 D Davidsson
