IPSWICH Witches lost their third home meeting of the season, when their Premier League clash with Newcastle at Foxhall Stadium was called off at lunchtime.

It’s another blow to the Suffolk side who face a fixture headache with a meetings, home and away, still to be re-arranged

On Friday the Witches will be hoping to see some action as they make the long trip west to Plymouth for a League Cup clash.

The Witches and Somerset currently head the southern section of the competition, with both in a good position to grab a semi-final spot against the northern winners and runners-up.

The Devils are good around their own track, led by the Premier League’s star man, Ben Barker.

However Plymouth will be without American star Ryan Fisher, who is on international duty, but new signing Todd Kurtz makes his debut.

Friday’s teams

Plymouth: B Barker, T Kurtz, R/R, J Holder, C Gathercole, G Franchetti, N Glanz.

Ipswich: L Lanham, R/R, K Doolan, D North, M Tresarrieu, C Heeps, R Tungate.
