MARK Loram today said it could prove disastrous if the Ipswich Evening Star Witches management does not find a replacement for injured skipper Chris Louis.
Loram knows it might not be easy to find someone, but is concerned the rider replacement facility, which the Witches will use for tonight's televised clash with Poole Pirates, could blow up in the high-flying Witches faces in the long run.
“If we can get a replacement for Chris that would be far better,” Loram said.
“Rider replacement gives riders an extra ride and that's great for them, but if anyone is having an off-night, it can prove disastrous.
“I'm sure the management are looking out for someone, because the right person could make all the difference.
“Our three away wins on the trot were all with guests and full seven-man teams. We can't use guests now the new averages have come in, but hopefully we can sign someone short term.”
The Witches return to action on Monday night at Foxhall.
