IT was good work-out for both teams in Tuesday night's friendly as Witham beat Leiston 4-1 in a close contest.
David Hawes opened the scoring for Witham after a good run and a pinpoint cross from Olly Murs. Eight minutes after the break Hawes deceived James Stannard with a low shot to make it two. Murs then beat Stannard to the ball and shot into an empty net to make it three.
Donald George pulled one back, but Murs then scored again after a brilliant run by Kevin Hawes.
