Woolpit maintained their unbeaten tag by inflicting another defeat on bottom side Bury St Edmunds Academy, in Division One of the Hunts County Bats League last Sunday.
However, it was a close match with Bury, searching for their first win of the season, falling 30 runs short of their target.
Leaders Woolpit totalled a daunting 291 for six off their 40 overs, thanks to an unbeaten 131 from Julian Crudelli and 78 by James Deeley.
Bury gave a good account of themselves, thanks to 70s from Tom Curran and Alexander Urquhart, but have now lost all five of their games.
In Division Two, an unbeaten 39 from G Drury ensured a nine-wicket win for Brettenham, over basement club Hartest & Coldham, while there was also a nine-wicket success for Brockley at Tuddenham, where R Webb took five wickets for the visitors. A good all-round display by R Partridge, who took four wickets and scored 55 runs, secured an eight-wicket win for BSSSC at Stowmarket.
