Ipswich Witches kept their Premier League play-off hopes on track after a 47-43 victory at Foxhall Stadium.
The home side were not helped when Rohan Tungate crashed in heat 3, adding to his previous injuries, and pulled out of the meeting.
That allowed Scunthorpe to push the Witches all the way, which they did, Witches guest for the night Ritchie Worrall winning a last heat decider to gain victory for the Suffolk side.
Witches scorers: Worrall 13, Heeps 8, Tungate 0, Risager 7, Lanham 7, Ellis 4, Hawkins 8.
