RUSHMERE brothers, Tom and Will Wright, gave an outstanding display in a chill wind in the Suffolk Winter Alliance meeting at Waldringfield on Sunday.

RUSHMERE brothers, Tom and Will Wright, gave an outstanding display in a chill wind in the Suffolk Winter Alliance meeting at Waldringfield on Sunday. There was a field of 92 players including eight professionals.

They won the better-ball Stableford with 46 points that included six birdies. One handicap Will Wright, the reigning Suffolk men's match play champion, also had an eagle.

Runners-up, three points behind, were Bury Golf Range professional Kevin Earp and Darren Aldous of Stoke by Nayland.

Haverhill players Andy Fish and Stuart King took third prize on count back with 42 points.

Earp was the top professional on the day with an impressive round of 68, He beat Jon Markham of Stowmarket and Robin Mann of Felixstowe Golf Range by five shots.

Earp faces Markham and Tony Dobson (Stonham Barns) in the Paul Wright and Co Suffolk PGA Winter match play at Stowmarket on Sunday and will be hoping to confirm the form.
