Colchester United boss John McGreal described today’s 1-0 win at Yeovil as a “classic” away performance.

Sean Murray chalked up his first goal in a U’s shirt as the Essex visitors celebrated their first away win of the season, at the sixth time of asking.

Murray’s winner arrived in the 43rd minute.

A slick U’s move ended with Kyel Reid teeing up Murray, and the ex-Swindon midfielder’s well-struck low shot from the edge of the box flew in at near corner of the net.

McGreal said: “I thought we were in control throughout.

“We looked very calm, we had a good shape about us, and it was really a classic away performance.

“The players met a few of the fans, as they got off the coach before the match, and that was terrific. I’m so pleased that we have managed to get this win for them.

“It’s also very pleasing to keep a clean-sheet for the first time this season. Yeovil have scored a lot of goals this season, and were trying to equal a club record (six matches unbeaten at the start of a season).

“But we looked quite comfortable, the centre-halves (Ryan Inniss and Frankie Kent), and I thought that Drey Wright did a good job on Otis Khan, who can be a big danger for them.

“We‘ve got a little bit of momentum now,” added McGreal.
