YM continue good start

IPSWICH YM continued their good start to the season with a fine showing against Mersea Island.
YM started at a quick pace and soon had Mersea pinned down in their own 22.
After only four minutes they had the chance to take the lead when awarded a penalty for Mersea being offside, but it went wide.
After ten minutes, YM fly-half Howard struck a great drop goal to take the lead 3-0.
The next 10 minutes saw the YM dominate and after Mersea went offside again, YM made it 6-0 with Elliston taking a much better penalty.
The half finished 11-0 after the YM backs put together a great phase of play that saw winger Ford beat the Mersea defence on the outside and score in the corne.

The second half again saw YM attack from the off and the lead was soon 14-0 after another penalty.
YM did not take long to get the first try of the half when Lea split the Mersea defence to score under the posts with Elliston getting the extras.
The continued dominance of YM soon had the score at 31-0 when Lea scored after a great scrum, before Mersea scored two late tries.
