Are the roads and railways clear and will you need a coat or your sunglasses at Ipswich Town’s final Portman Road game of the season?
It seems the brief cold, wet and gloomy spell this week has come to an end today (April 29), with early morning temperatures of around 9C ensuring the people of Suffolk should not be treated to any frost this morning.
With an overcast start to the day, temperatures in Ipswich will rise to around 13C at noon before clouds start to clear in time for the 3pm kick-off.
As the first ball is kicked the sun should start burning through the clouds, with the sun set to be in full force by the end of the game.
Temperatures will remain a steady 13C until around 6pm, at which point they will start to drop to no lower than 10C by the time the day is over.
The day should be dry, with a small chance of some showers.
Today there will be some engineering work affecting lines into Ipswich.
As a result of Crossrail and overhead line renewal works, there will be no Greater Anglia train service between London Liverpool Street and Ingatestone/Wickford all day.
Buses will replace trains between Ingatestone/Wickford and Newbury Park (London Underground Tube Station). Tickets will be accepted on the Central Line from Newbury Park to/from London Liverpool Street.
So far the main roads are largely clear, with no major planned roadworks likely to cause significant disruption.
The ongoing closures at Ranleagh Road/Princes Street, outside the train station, should be avoided if possible.
Extra football traffic will cause delays along the main routes into the town.
