Suffolk U18s face Norfolk test in East Anglian derby

SUFFOLK have set-up a mouth-watering clash with Norfolk in the FA County Youth Cup second round following a 7-2 drubbing over Gloucestershire on Saturday.

Elliot Crowe and George Clarke each bagged a brace for the Boys’ Under-18s at Haverhill Rovers’ New Croft ground to send Suffolk cruising into the next round.

After suffering an unexpected first-round defeat to Huntingdonshire last year, Adam Fitzgerald and Crowe signalled the hosts’ intent by scoring inside the opening six minutes.

The visitors breached the Suffolk defence twice before the break but Clarke notched up a double before further goals from Crowe, Liam Wales and Ryan Taylor sealed an emphatic victory.

Suffolk will now cross the border to face Norfolk in an eagerly-anticipated East Anglian derby following their thumping 5-0 victory over Devon.
