CHELSEA skipper John Terry has flown to Dubai for showdown talks with his wife after being granted leave to miss the London club's FA Cup clash against Cardiff at the weekend.

The 29-year-old boarded a plane this morning to try to resolve his marital problems with wife Toni after an alleged affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the ex-partner of England team-mate Wayne Bridge.

Chelsea assistant boss Ray Wilkins confirmed that Terry, who was sacked as England captain last week, will have some time away from the club to get his personal life back on track.

“Carlo is giving him a bit of time off,” said Wilkins. “He will come back and prepare for our game against Wolves on the 20th.

“They just had a little chat, John and Carlo, and decided that would be the best for all concerned.”
