A town’s first adventure room has landed with an innovative array of puzzles and props to test you and your friends.
But the question is - do you have the patience, the teamwork and the dedication to find the evidence required to put away a criminal mastermind?
If so, make sure to take a trip to the new escape centre which opens this Saturday, October 13 in Bury St Edmunds.
The Evidence Room is the first of its kind in the area and will host two different rooms - ‘the Gedding room’ which will run constantly and the ‘seasonal room’, which will change accordingly.
The first session will be Halloween themed and full of spooky surprises to catch you out, with only 60mins to complete the task.
The haunted room is set to open on Wednesday, October 17 and will run until Sunday, November 4, offering two variations with one slightly less scary option for children aged 7 to 13.
The Gedding room is based on a 1960s local property dealer, who was found guilty of swindling insurance companies for more than £300,000 after multiple fires at his properties.
Owner of the independent venture, Benedict Cunningham, decided to quit his job at the Royal Society in London after years of wanting to open his own escape room.
“I’d been thinking about doing this for a long time,” said the 31-year-old, who is originally from Boxford.
“I’ve visited lots of escape rooms and I’ve had loads of ideas - so I decided to go ahead and take the plunge.”
There is a lot of planning and preparation behind the escape room, said Mr Cunningham, who admits he “hasn’t stopped shaking” since he was given the go-ahead.
“I’m absolutely buzzing - it’s such an adrenaline rush being able to watch people on the CCTV and seeing them jump up and down,” said Mr Cunningham, who has watched the craze of escape rooms rise over the last few years.
“We had a group of people come to trial the room and they all said how amazing it was. It felt great to know that I made them feel that way.”
