Children from Rougham Primary School, Great Finborough Primary School and South Lee School, in Bury St Edmunds, are joining forces with the Stowmarket Chorale for a performance at The Apex, entitled “Zimbe!”

It is taking place on Sunday, March 18, at 4pm, and features songs of Africa and is accompanied by the composer Alexander L’Estrange and his Jazz Quintet.

The performance is a celebration of African music combining traditional songs with jazz, Western choral and pop influences, and sung by the adult chorus and children’s choir.

Conducted by the chorale’s music director, Leslie Olive, and following on from last year’s performance of “Ahoy!” this is the second collaboration between the chorale, the three schools and Alexander L’Estrange and his quintet.

Tickets are available from the Apex box office, www.theapex.co.uk or 02184 758000. They are priced at £15 adults, £6 concessions.
