A new heating and cooling system has been installed at Colchester’s Mercury Theatre as part of major improvement works over the summer.
Altogether the work, costing £580,000, will see improved disabled access, refurbishment, solar panels and the temperature system works carried out to both the main theatre and studio.
Colchester-based Essex Mechanical Services fitted the heating and cooling system.
Steve Mannix, the theatre’s executive director, said: “This funding has given us a wonderful opportunity to improve our facilities for all visitors, not only audiences but also theatrical talent.
“We are proud through this project to support local businesses by using their skills and expertise.”
