As the crowds begin to flock into the arena, the atmosphere of the site in Hylands Park, Chelmsford, is thriving.

The excitement of festival-goers is also apparent, with many pushing their way to the front of the stage to catch a glimpse of their favourite artists, bands and comedians.

There are a large number of acts set to grace both the MTV stage and the Supervenes stage today, including childhood favourite trio Busted, X Factor winner James Arthur and R&B legend Craig David. Headlining Saturday night is pop rock favourite Pink.

The first official day of V Festival is also showcasing the likes of a variety of hilarious comedy acts in The Glee Comedy Tent. These include frequent Live at The Apollo performer Sean Walsh, laugh-out-loud Lee Nelson and TV funny man Joel Dommett.
