Young farmers across Suffolk have put their agricultural resources towards artistic ends to promote their work.

The Suffolk Young Farmers’ bale sculpture competition has seen an intriguing variety of strange structures emerge from the countryside.

Suffolk organiser Tory Lugsden said it was the first year the competition had been held to promote new members’ week, with the Debenham Young Farmers currently attracting the most votes for its combine harvester in Earl Soham.

“They are all really impressive but the Debenham one seems to have been the most spectacular – the workmanship and engineering that’s gone into it is unbelievable,” said Ms Lugsden.
