Familiar faces from TV will be joining Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer in The Wizard of Oz at the Regent Theatre this December.
Enchanted Entertainment have turned L. Frank Baum’s original tale into a singing, dancing, joke-packed pantomime.
Harmer, playing Kansas farm girl Dorothy, will be joined by Coronation Street legend Ken “Reg Holdsworth” Morley as the Wizard and Britain’s Got Talent ventriloquist Gareth Oliver as Scarecrow.
Raymond from CBeebies Me Too star Matthew McVarish is playing Lion and Aaron Sidwell, EastEnders’ Steven Beale, is the Wicked Witch’s Henchman.
With a full supporting cast and live band it sees Dorothy carried off to the magical Land of Oz by a tornado. With help from her new friends the Munchkins, she heads off to the Emerald City where the great Wizard of Oz lives.
On the way Dorothy meets a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart and a Cowardly Lion who desperately needs courage. Will the wonderful Wizard of Oz be able to help them before the Wicked Witch of the West captures them in her dungeon?
Suitable for all ages, tickets for the show - which runs from December 17-23 - are on sale now.
