Summer Cinema in a Barn, June 2, Stock Street Farm, Coggeshall

Grab some popcorn and head to the farm to watch a film. On Saturday you have the chance to watch The Secret Garden and Pride and Prejudice inside a 350 year-old barn.

The barn has tiered seating and there will be an usher to provide you with drinks during the film.

The Secret Garden will be shown at 4.30pm and there will be games afterwards, Pride and Prejudice will show at 7.30pm there will be a firepit after the film until midnight.

Real Ale and Cider Festival, Colchester Arts Centre, June 2

Head to Colchester this weekend for the 33rd Real Ale and Cider Festival at the Colchester Arts Centre.

There will be real ales, ciders, perrys from all over the country.

Belgians bar will offer draught and bottled Belgian Beers alongside English wines from Mersea Island Vineyard. Soft drinks will be available.

The event will be on from 12pm until 11pm, accompanied children are welcome up until 6.30pm.

Open Garden event, Mellis Hidden Gardens, June 2 and 3

Spend your weekend admiring the beautiful Mellis gardens while raising money for a good cause.

Over the weekend approximately 14 gardens will be open from 10.30am to 4.30pm to help raise money for St Mary’s Church.

You will be able to see small gardens, large gardens, secret gardens, new, established gardens, the courtyard, and wild and more formal gardens.

At the centre of it all is the ancient Mellis Common, strewn with wild flowers and rare plants and, arguably, at its most beautiful at this time of year.

The Common extends to approximately 240 acres and includes amongst its residents green-winged orchids, sulphur clover and adder’s tongue ferns.For more information visit the website.

Mini Barn Bash, Stonham Barns Leisure & Retail Village, June 2 and 3

If you know someone that is a fan of the mini car then this is the perfect event.

It will be the first ever Suffolk Mini Show for the public to come and enjoy the hundreds of Mini’s on display.

Lots of exciting events are planned throughout the day including club display, Mini’s for sale area, traders & auto jumble, food and drink concessions, music in the barn, children’s activities.

2018 marks the 250th anniversary of the creation of circus in the UK, come and celebrate this wonderful art form.

Circus Fantasia has worked hard to bring you a brand new show for 2018 with a dazzling array of international circus talent from every corner of the globe.

You can expect high wire walkers who will walk and cycle on a strand of steel wire 40 foot up in the air, a unique quad bike juggling act, the Packham Sisters high above the circus ring with their double trapeze, the daring wheel of death which will have you on the edge of your seats, musical clowns who will have you rolling around laughing at their crazy antics and lots more.

Woolpit Steam Rally, Warren Farm, Wetherden, June 2 and 3

Around 20 pre-1930s tractors will be among the attractions at Woolpit Steam Rally as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this weekend.

The event includes a host of historic and rare machinery which is not normally seen on display. Vintage cars, motorcycles, and commercial and military vehicles will also join the wide-ranging display.

There will be more than 50 craft, trade and auto jumble stalls, and hot and cold food stalls, a licensed bar and ice creams.

The event includes a traditional fun fair including electric yachts, dodgems and side stalls, together with Punch and Judy and a full ring programme on both days to keep the family entertained. Gates open from 9am to 5pm on both days.

Pulse Festival, New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich, May 31 to June 9

This 10 day festival is returning for its 18th year it offers a bright and inspiring snapshot of contemporary theatre with established and emerging artists, both local and those from further afield.

The event will have over 50 shows in the programme, there really is something for everyone. Choose from fly-on-wall drama, experimental theatre, musical theatre, immersive digital experiences, visceral verse, laugh-out-loud humour, and lots more.
