Indie stars James make their Newmarket Nights debut this summer.

Known for hits like Sit Down, Laid and She’s A Star, they have sold 13million albums worldwide during their 30-year plus career. Their critically acclaimed 14th release, Girl At The End Of The World, entered the UK charts at number two.

Tickets for their August 4 gig go on sale from 8am this Friday via www.thejockeyclublive.co.uk. Presale tickets are available from 8am today.

Amy Starkey, regional director east of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “We’re really excited to welcome James to the Adnams July Course for the first time. It will be fantastic to see them perform their hits for our racegoers this summer and I’m sure they will put on a fantastic show.

Last year, more than 100,000 music fans visited the racecourse to see the likes of Tears For Fears, Mark Ronson and the Kaiser Chiefs.

Acts revealed so far this year include the return of Little Mix on June 23, The Jacksons 50th Anniversary Tour on June 30, Chase and Status on August 11 and Olly Murs on August 18. Summer Saturday Live welcomes Jess Glynne on August 26.
