Ska and reggae act Toots and the Maytals have scrapped their appearance at Ipswich’s Regent Theatre on Tuesday night.

The group has postponed its show due to ill-health.

The theatre said it had today received confirmation from the artist’s agent that the lead singer is suffering with severe flu and has lost his voice.

The show will be rescheduled for Saturday, September 17, at 7.30pm.

A spokesman for the theatre, who are contacting ticket holders about the postponement, said: “We would like to apologise on behalf of the artist for the inconvenience the postponement will cause.”
