WOULD you like to learn to move like a Strictly Come Dancing star.

If you fancy having a go at the rumba, cha-cha-cha or the foxtrot and are from Bury St Edmunds then DanceEast wants to hear from you.

It’s looking for enthusiastic people aged 14 up who would be interested in dancing and performing at The Apex in February.

No experience is needed and you don’t need to be in couples or pairs, you just need the desire to learn and perform some ballroom or Latin dance.

Rehearsals begin next month and will be led by Crystal Main and teachers from The Lait School of Dance.

The project will end with an evening of dance at The Apex featuring performances from a selection of school, community and dance groups from Bury St Edmunds and professional dance performances from Bruce Lait and Crystal Main who starred in Strictly’s pro-dance troupe.

Councillor Mark Ereira- Guyer, green county councillor, tower division, said: “Strictly Come Bury St Edmunds gives young and old people a unique and creative chance to do something positive and uplifting.

“The project is designed for people to have fun, be healthy and active, combined with lots of learning opportunities that will bring the community together in a wonderful celebration of dance.”
