There’s a host of lectures planned for the coming weeks and months by the Film Clubs in Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury featuring an array of acts and artists.
The Sudbury club has moved to the Granary, in Quay Lane, while the Bury group meets at the St John’s Centre, in St John’s Street, with the events beginning at 10.30am.
In January 2011 Simon Frampton set up the Sudbury Film Club with the idea of providing a series of lectures on the art and technique of films and at each meeting there is a lecture covering the subject illustrated with many film clips. This is followed by a discussion group afterwards.
The Bury Film Club is a new venture which began in October 2017.
The topics for Spring are: British Films in the 1960’s including historical Cinema adverts; Sudbury, January 12; Bury, January 26. Marlon Brando; Sudbury, February 9; Bury, February 23. Simone Signoret; Sudbury, March 9; Bury, March 30; Billy Wilder; Sudbury, April 13; Bury, April 27.
