POLICE say they are disappointed at the amount of crime reported at the Latitude Festival - despite increased security measures introduced by the organisers.
Officers were last night still logging reports of crimes but the total has already reached the 100 mark - many of them thefts of money and property as well as drug-related incidents.
The level of crime at the three-day festival, which attracted a crowd of 25,000 at Henham Park, near Southwold, disappointed both police and organisers as more security measures had been introduced since last year's festival. They included extra security personnel and some CCTV cameras.
Two men - a 26-year-old and a 28-year-old, both from Manchester - were arrested on suspicion of theft in the early hours of Friday. They have been bailed to return to Lowestoft Police Station on September 8 and enquiries continue into the incidents.
Police also received a report of a robbery that occurred around midnight on Sunday. At this stage officers have only limited details but it appears a male was approached by four youths - two described as white and one mixed race and all four in their mid teens to early 20s - and was assaulted by them before having his wallet stolen.
