The wet weather put a dampner on the 38th Walsham le Willows open gardens weekend today.
But there is better news for organisers of the event as tomorrow is set to be dry with sunny spells and no forecast of rain.
All 30 gardens were opened up and many visitors took advantage of the dry start to the day and visited in the morning.
But as the rain swept over the village many headed for home with few attending in the afternoon.
John Stebbing, the secretary of the organising committee, said: “It’s been a shame as a lot of effort has gone into the event but tomorrow will be much better for us as the weather forecast is good.
“Many people came in the morning to visit the gardens and those who were here enjoyed it and the village comes out to support it as well.
“But we will be ready tomorrow to welcome visitors from 11am to 6pm.”
Over 250 local people are involved in the event with funds raised going towards village causes and the maintainance of the fabric of St Mary’s the Virgin church.
There was also music from the Breckland Brass Band and the Gislingham Silver Band at the Memorial Village Hall along with a village market and an arts sale and floral art display in the church plus vintage cars on show.
