Now the nights are drawing in and the weather has taken a turn, heading out to an evening theatre performance might not be as alluring for those of a certain age.

But The Apex has the perfect solution - a special Christmas matinee performance of Hits from the Blitz: We’ll Meet Again is taking place on Thursday, December 4.

The “feel-good” 1940’s show, as featured at Dame Vera Lynn’s charity gala nights, will help you re-live the camaraderie of the war years with famous war-time tunes and “sing-a-long” songs. The show features songs from Glenn Miller, Vera Lynn and other forces favourites, with a repertoire including In The Mood, April in Paris, Old Devil Called Love, and of course We’ll Meet Again and the music will be brought to life by the singers and multi-instrumentalists of the Five Star Swing band; which features Simone Smith, from the latter days of the Ivy Benson Orchestra, and Chris Smith (Jnr), composer and arranger for Glenn Miller’s Brother, Herb Miller.

The show takes place at The Apex, at 2.15pm on Thursday, December 4. Tickets are £15, call the box office on 01284 758000 or visit their website for details
