A Suffolk theatre can now live- stream performances from other venues thanks to the installation of new satellite dishes.

The Regal Theatre in Stowmarket has installed the Lansat device and satellite dishes, with the first show being Jeff Wayne’s musical version of War of the Worlds from the O2 Arena at 7pm on October 11.

Regal manager David Marsh said: “Although this one is not strictly live [recorded at a sell-out performance], it has an amazing cast including Liam Neeson, Jason Donovan and Stowmarket girl Kerry Ellis.

“Kerry is a former Stowmarket High School student and she’s had starring roles in Les Miserables and We Will Rock You. Her huge talent and local connection made this an obvious choice. October is looking like a fantastic month – we also have Suffragette and the new James Bond film Spectre, both showing on their national release date, which is quite a big deal for a single-screen independent cinema like ours.”
