The Charlatans are among the latest names added to this year’s V Festival.
“Having been lucky enough to be part of the first ever V Festival line-up in 1996 we’re thrilled to be playing its 20th anniversary year,” said frontman Tim Burgess on their eighth appearance at the event.
They will be joined by Sigma, Wretch 32, Echo and The Bunnymen, Hilltop Hoods, Lawson and Indiana.
“This will be my hat trick appearance and I can’t wait to get out there and have some fun with my fans,” added Wretch 32.
V Festival takes place at Chelmsford’s Hylands park August 22-23.
Acts already announced include James Bay and Jess Glynne, both set to claim their first UK number ones in the album and single charts respectively this Sunday; Sam Smith, Calvin Harris, Kasabian, Stereophonics, Paloma Faith, George Ezra, Ellie Goulding and Ella Henderson.
