EAST ANGLIA: Our very own X Factor star has made it through another week of the TV talent show and gained a standing ovation from all four judges in the process.
Matt Cardle, of Little Maplestead, near Halstead in Essex, left his mentor Danni Minogue in tears on Saturday night after an emotional rendition of the Roberta Flack song The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.
Matt, 27, was praised by all four judges and remains the bookies’ favourite to win this year’s ITV1 show.
Last night, Treyc Cohen was voted off, losing the sing-off to Katie Waissel.
