A three-day beer and music festival is being held in an east Suffolk village this weekend in a bid to unite the community following the loss of its last remaining pub.

The Turner and Taylor Hog and Ale Experience is taking place in Wickham Market village hall from Friday evening through until Sunday featuring a wide variety of ale, cider, lager and food.

Festival organiser says the celebration of food, drink and live music will bring a “boost” to the village after fire destroyed The George Inn back in April.

“With these festivals people who might have known each other to nod when they pass in the street suddenly engage in conversation and get to know one another, which helps bring the community together,” he said.

The event kicks off at 7.30pm on Friday and runs each day until Sunday evening. A hog roast will be available throughout and local bands will play on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon.
