A graphic designer who worked in the music business with “everyone from Motorhead to McCartney” is exhibiting a private collection in Suffolk next month.
Neil Dean, 76, has collated a diverse selection of woodland scenes, abstract mixed media and fairy tale illustrations for the free exhibition at Woodbridge Library.
The former Suffolk resident, who was born in Holbrook, worked for many years in London designing images for music groups, including the logo for Paul McCartney’s band Wings.
After retiring from the music business, Mr Dean focused on his own artwork and is looking forward to exhibiting it in Suffolk.
“I’ve always had a strong connection with the county and it’s nice to be exhibiting this retrospective collection,” he said. “If people were looking for a reason to come along, I guess it’s the diversity of the work that makes it most interesting. My main point of departure is natural forms – I’m a country boy at heart – but there’s also going to be abstract work and detailed illustrations, too.”

Mr Dean, whose brother-in-law is Kevin Whitney, first national artist of the Olympic Games, is particularly pleased to be exhibiting at Woodbridge Library.
“I’m not usually keen on art exhibitions in libraries, but when I saw the space I was delighted – it’s really impressive,” he said.
