It’s Bettys, not Chico time, when the X Factor quarter-finalist comes to the Cornill club tomorrow.

The former goatherder, who wowed audiences back in series two of the hit ITV1 talent show, has plenty in store for audiences.

“It’s going to be a bit musical, a hell of a lot physical and all I can say is put on your party pants and let’s party. I can’t wait,” he promises. “I’m going to sing a few classics, some original stuff and new material which is dance orientated; very un-Chico time.”

Bettys’ owner is a friend of his; when it turned out Chico had never visited the club he leapt at the chance to perform.

The singer is a busy man. One of his many projects includes filming the pilot of a children’s TV show where he plays a superhero teaching youngsters about the power of a positive mental attitude. He’s also been short-listed for some reality TV shows. Any of them involve parachuting into the Australian jungle I ask?

“Something like that,” he laughs. “It involves loads of things.”

Bettys, behind the Golden Lion, opens at 9pm with Chico on from 11pm.
