A cardboard Banksy is set to sell for thousands of pounds when it goes on sale at a Suffolk auction house.
The anti-war placard designed by renowned graffiti artist Banksy is set to go on sale at Rowley’s auctioneers in Newmarket, Suffolk, on May 30 2017.
The spray-painted cardboard placard shows a little girl holding an aerial bomb with the word ‘no’ imposed over her. The placard was designed by the graffiti artist for the 2003 anti-Iraq War protest in London.
Will Axon, senior auctioneer at Rowley’s, said: “It is really exciting to sell a powerful contemporary piece like this by such an extraordinary urban artist.
“It is one of those rare occasions when you can genuinely call a picture iconic, the fact that this image is on a rather fragile piece of creased cardboard just adds to it.
The Banksy picture will be sold at Rowley’s in Newmarket on May 30 2017, with an estimate of £10,000 to £15,000.
