There’s a chance to join William Hanson and Diana Mather, Britain’s leading etiquette experts, live on stage in a tongue-in-tea cup foray into civilised human behaviour in “The Etiquette Show: Much Ado About Everything” on Sunday at the Quay Theatre.

If you fancy polishing your Ps and Qs then this is the show for you.

If your partner is more Crystal Palace than Buckingham Palace, more immoral than Balmoral or a touch Holy-rude then this show may be just the tonic.

After a successful run at the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe the show is now embarking on a national tour, which begins in Suffolk.

William and Diana will be guiding the audience through the history of civility, the dos and don’ts of modern manners, as well as sharing their extraordinary experiences of cultural faux-pas and what exactly it takes to be an etiquette coach in the modern day.

William is a teacup and saucer in a world of mugs. He is a perennial voice in the media, commenting on matters of taste and critiquing social trends for a wide-range of media outlets. You may have heard his regular slot with BBC Radio 2’s “Steve Wright in the Afternoon”, or seen him on ITV “This Morning”.

Diana, formerly a BBC newsreader and actress, moved from her successful career in broadcasting to offer training in presentation skills and etiquette. She devised the modern-day syllabus to improve manners for young women and introduced the first finishing school for gentleman.

“The Etiquette Show: Much Ado About Everything” proves that etiquette doesn’t have to be

stiff and starchy.

William and Diana are the first to laugh at themselves and their subject but share a vehement passion for the need for civility and decorum in the modern age.

Tickets are £15 and £13 for friends of the theatre.
