Spice Lounge, in the town’s High Street, has booked 110 people to eat at the restaurant on Monday, January 21, including councillors and dignitaries from the area, and all proceeds will go to the Priory School in Bury St Edmunds.

The restaurant, which has won multiple prizes for its food, including the regional title at last year’s English Curry Awards, is hoping to raise around £3,500 from the evening.

Jay Ali, general manager, said: “We’re really looking forward to the night. We’ve been overwhelmed by the response, people are travelling from all over the region to come to the restaurant.

“We’ve done a lot with charities before but this is our first major event and 100% of the takings will be going to the Priory School in Bury St Edmunds.”
