This weekend you have the unique chance to run the Colchester Stampede 10K at Colchester Zoo. The route will be through the zoo and onto closed roads.

The run begins at 9am but runners are asked to arrive between 6.45am and 7.30pm to find their bearings and warm up.

Standard entries have sold out but you can still take part if you run for a charity.

Fancy a disco where you can choose the music? The go to the silent disco at Ipswich museum this Saturday.

You will receive a set of wireless headphones armed with two channels playing different songs.

The event will take place in the Victorian Natural History Gallery, where local celebrities Wool-I-Am and Rosie the Rhino can be found.

An event for the whole family to enjoy even the furry members! Nowton Park in Bury Saint Edmunds is hosting their Paws in the Park event on Sunday.

The event runs from 10am until 4pm and is in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.

The day will have lots to do from dog competitions, dog agility, a gundog scurry and lots more. You can enter your dog into as many competitions as you like including best puppy, handsomest dog, scruffiest mutt and many more.

There will be plenty of food and drink stands including Yum Yum Tree Fudge, Greene King, and A La Cart. There is so much going on you can read about it here.

Colchester Vintage Kilo Sale

The Vintage Clothing Kilo Sale lets you pick from thousands of vintage, retro and branded items from the 70s – early 00’s!

Roll up your sleeves and rummage through tonnes of vintage items and save money.

There will be male and female clothes with everything from retro tops, denim, jackets, jumpers, shorts and skirts.

Bury St Edmunds Film Festival

The Abbeygate Cinema are hosting a season of films to mark 100 years of votes for women by celebrating strong and inspiring female characters on screen. There are various films and shows happening to mark the occasion starting on May 18 and finishing on May 27.

On Saturday there is nine different events to attend from a show by Aled Jones, a street theatre with exciting performers, and a walk named ‘Bury at War’ which will take you to some of the most iconic sites and symbols of warfare around the town.

On Sunday there are eleven events including a showing of Mary Poppins, a comedy club for kids, a cathedral choir and a showing of Superhero The Musical. Make sure you take a look at the line up and book your favourite events on their website.
