It takes place on Sunday May 26 and Bank Holiday Monday May 27 with the urban beach setting up outside Moyse's Hall Museum in Cornhill.

The beach is just one of a host of attractions over the two days event organised by Our Bury St Edmunds, the town's Business Improvement District.

Other attractions include a mini-farm, food and craft stalls, and street entertainment throughout the day.

Chief Executive of Our Bury St Edmunds, Mark Cordell, said: "The urban beach is one of many attractions that make the Whitsun Fayre a brilliant event for all the family, offering a full day of free entertainment on Sunday and Monday.

"For visitors from across Suffolk and further afield, it's a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase Bury St Edmunds and everything it has to offer as a number of shops, bars and restaurants will also be open during the event.

It also means local people who support town centre businesses throughout the year can enjoy a free day out as our way of saying thank you."

Admission to the event is free and it runs from 10am to 4pm. For more details go to the Whitsun Fayre website.
