CONNOR Wickham played 90 minutes for England Under 19s as they ended their trio of European qualifiers with a 2-1 defeat against Belgium.
England will feel hard done by after dominating chances and possession - Belgium scoring with their first shot on goal from captain Paul-Jose Mpoku in the sixth minute of first half injury time.
By then, England should have been ahead but skipper Jonjo Shelvey’s spot kick was saved by Casteels after Wickham had been hauled down.
The Town man had a number of chances either side of half time but found Casteels in impressive form before the young Three Lions got a deserved equaliser four minutes from time from Liverpool’s Michael Ngoo.
But Belgium responded almost immediately and Hannes Van der Bruggen’s 88th minute goal proved to be the winner to maintain Belgium’s 100% record in the qualifying round and end England’s.
