A 35-year-old man has been charged after a homeowner was allegedly struck with a crowbar in an aggravated burglary.
Reece Charlesworth, of Bull Lane in Long Melford, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Friday, February 9, charged with aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon.
It follows an incident on Monday, February 5, where a occupant inside a property in Morten Road, Colchester was allegedly struck by a crowbar.
Money was also demanded said an Essex Police spokesman and the alleged victim suffered head injuries.
Charlesworth was remanded to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, March 9.
