The reopening date for an iconic Suffolk landmark has been announced after it was taken over by new owners.
Southwold Pier will have a soft launch reopening this weekend before officially reopening at Easter.
Earlier this month husband and wife duo Amy and Charles Barwick were announced as the new owners of the attraction after they purchased it for an undisclosed fee.
The new owners have said the pier will be open from 8am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday for people to have a look around and visit the Clockhouse Cafe or The Beach Fish and Chip Shop.
The pier will then have a grand reopening on Easter weekend which will also include all the shops and the Boardwalk restaurant.
Mr and Mrs Bawick purchased the pier from the previous owners Curious Pier Limited, which is part of the Gough Hotels group.
Speaking about the future of the pier Mrs Barwick said: "Charles and I are so excited to become the new custodians of the pier and we look forward to running it alongside the fabulous team we’ve inherited, for many years to come.”
Mr Barwick added: “We are looking at an initial light refurbishment in places, but this will be phased, as we plan to keep the other areas open to the public as we go.
"We have great plans to invest in the pier and its facilities and we’ll update our progress on to the website, so visitors will know what’s open before they arrive."
