A tearoom in a Suffolk coastal town has announced it is reopening at the end of the month after it was forced to close for council repair works. 

Pit Stop Café and Tennis Courts in Southwold closed for the winter season on Sunday, October 29 with plans to reopen on Saturday, February 17.

Owner Anne Clark went to sign the new lease for the building in December last year but was told she was not allowed to reopen as planned as repairs had to be fixed from a survey on the building taken four years ago.

The café is located in an old First World War building which has "worn out" over the years. 

Last month it was shared that Pit Stop Café would be allowed to reopen by Easter and a GoFundMe was set up to raise money for maintenance. 

The aim of raising £1,000 was surpassed and nearly £1,700 has been raised for the business.

In a new update, the tearoom said "we look forward to seeing you soon" as it revealed it would be reopening at 10am on Saturday, March 23.
