The much-loved Southwold Pier will reopen this weekend after it was taken over by new owners.
Earlier this month, husband and wife duo Amy and Charles Barwick were announced as the new owners of the attraction after they purchased it for an undisclosed fee.
The pair hosted a soft launch at the pier last weekend, where visitors were able to have a look around and visit the Clockhouse Café and The Beach Fish and Chip Shop.
Mr and Mrs Barwick will officially open the pier with help from the mayor of Southwold on Good Friday.
Speaking about the opening, Mrs Barwick said: “Charles and I are really very excited to welcome the mayor, local residents and visitors alike onto the pier this coming Friday, for the start of what will be an exciting new season and new beginning for the pier.”
As well as the pier all of the much-loved attractions will also be open again from this weekend including The Clockhouse Café, The Beach Fish and Chips, a new ice cream parlour selling Southwolds own Harris and James gelato, Boardwalk Restaurant, Seaweed and Salt shop, Under The Pier Show and the amusement arcade.
Mr Barwick said: “We’ve been busy working around the clock bringing the pier back to life for the start of the new season and we are not stopping there, with lots of enhancements planned for the future, in a bid to place the pier firmly back on the map, as one of the regions must visit destinations for good old traditional family fun.”
From Easter the pier will be open from 8am until 5pm, however opening times will change throughout the holiday season.
