The Orwell Bridge will remain open today with a reduced speed limit of 40mph due to windy conditions.
National Highways made the decision for the A14 bridge, near Ipswich, on Monday morning to maintain safety on the road.
Wind speeds of up to 53mph have been forecast for Suffolk today.
National Highways says that the speed limit may remain in place until 6pm.
This comes as the Met Office has put in place a yellow warning for the whole of Suffolk until 10pm today.
Almost 1,000 homes and businesses in the west of Suffolk have been left without power due to the conditions.
