A road in east Suffolk is blocked after a tree fell and broke an internet cable. 

The tree has completely blocked Badingham Road in Bramling Green, near Framlingham, after falling on Monday morning. 

A witness who lives in the area said the tree has broken an Openreach cable and is being supported by an electrical wire. 

The witness also said a police officer and engineers for Openreach are on the scene.

The alert is in place for the whole of Suffolk until 10pm on Monday.

People living in Suffolk are being advised that some short term loss of power and other services is possible during the strong winds. 

In west Suffolk nearly 900 homes were without electricity in Bury St Edmunds, Rougham, Rattlesden and Cockfield. 

Power is expected to return to those areas at 6.30pm tonight.
