A 35-year-old man who was arrested in connection with a stabbing in St John’s Walk, in Colchester, has denied assisting an offender by washing a knife in bleach.
Before Ipswich Crown Court today (Tuesday, September 18) via a prison video link for a plea and trial preparation hearing was Brett French, of Sussex Road, Colchester.
He pleaded not guilty to assisting an offender on August 19 by taking a knife and washing it in bleach.
French’s trial is expected to take place during a two-week warned list commencing January 7 next year.
Essex Police were called at around 2.20am on Sunday, August 19, to reports that a man had been stabbed in the back while walking in St John’s Walk.
He was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
