A TEENAGE girl was sexually assaulted in Felixstowe.

The incident took place in Chester Road at around 1.30am to 1.45am on Sunday when a 17-year-old was attacked.

Officers were contacted yesterday morning.

The 17-year-old reported she had been walking along the road when a male knocked her to the ground, put his hand up her dress and sexually assaulted her.

The girl screamed and the male – possibly in his teens and wearing a hooded top with a scarf partially over his face – ran away.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time or anyone with information about the incident to call Acting Detective Sergeant Annabel Taylor at Suffolk Police on 101.

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Osborne Street, Colchester, in the early hours of this morning.
