Three fire crews helped to release a horse trapped inside a horse box this afternoon.

Firefighters from Bury St Edmunds and Mildenhall were sent to Tuddenham High Street at 12.33pm.

A vet was called to sedate the horse, after which the rescue teams released the horse.

The animal was freed by 1.24pm.

An A&E department in Suffolk had to close to ambulances for a temporary period because patient safety was at risk, it has been revealed.
