Kieron Dyer has already had to delve into a rat enclosure and face a bushtucker trial and it is only day two of his jungle adventure.

The 36-year-old is starring in the latest series of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! on ITV, and was picked by Tony Hadley to join the red team in the initial challenges - shown this evening.

Dyer stepped in to help team mate Jorgie Porter, of Hollyoaks fame, after she struggled to hook the key from the rats in the first of three challenges.

Lady Colin Campbell and Union J’s George Shelley made up the team, but Shelley was ejected after they were beaten in the task by Susannah Constantine’s yellow team.

Porter redeemed herself by jumping out of a plane and winning the second task for the reds.

But Dyer and Hadley got into a muddle detangling bouys and lost the third challenge.

As a result, the reds were forced to take on the first bushtucker challenge - along with yellow team reject Chris Eubank.

The contestants were showered with bugs and had to brave it out to win stars, each worth a meal for one camp mate.

Hadley came off worst, while Dyer escaped scot free.

The team triumphed, winning all 10 stars and ensuring they, plus fellow contestants Constantine, Yvette Fielding, Brian Friedman and Duncan Bannatyne got a full meal.

Dyer has already agreed to be on toilet duty, confessing he cannot cook.

The ex-England international is donating his entire fee to Ipswich charity ‘the Jude Brady Foundation’ which works with those affected by stillbirth and neonatal death.

Dyer said: “I am very competitive. But I am not going on the show for money. My fee is going to a charity. I am doing this show for the charity and my children.

“I see the show can revitalise people’s careers, but if someone in the camp wants to further their career in the media, I would rather they win than me.

“Obviously if I did win, I’d be over the moon, but it’s not the be all and end all.”

The show airs nightly all week. Keep up to date hereWhat were your first impressions of Dyer? Share your views below.
